Sanity Savers
1st Editon
Some weeks feel like a blur of carpool lines, snacks, and laundry mountains. So today, I’m sharing my 5 sanity savers. These little wins that are keeping me sane, my boys fed (and mostly happy), and my faith and style intact. Because motherhood might be messy, but a few small hacks can make a big difference.
1. Snack Containers That Actually Work
These 3-compartment snack containers have been a game-changer lately. While the boys are at school, I fill them with good-for-them snacks that they actually eat for when they get home. A few combos we love:
Nutella + pretzels + apple slices
Applesauce + granola balls + rice crisps
Carrot sticks + back to nature (Ritz-like) crackers + raspberries
Cheese cubes + pepperoni + mini pitas
It’s such a small thing, but it saves me from the “what do you want to eat?!” chaos for at least an hour and keeps my sanity intact.
Monique has the best feel-good recipes on her site, Ambitious Kitchen. This loaf is saving mornings and after-school snack time alike. Packed with protein from almond flour and fiber plus vitamins from pumpkin, it’s genuinely nourishing, but my youngest devours it anyway. I make a loaf on Sunday, slice it, and wrap pieces individually so they’re ready to grab all week. Quick, wholesome, and practically mess-free: what’s not to love?
3. Faith Anchor: Psalms Illuminated Scripture Journal
I’ve been diving into the Psalms this week, and this journal has been a quiet lifesaver. The combination of space to write and the beautiful illuminated pages makes it easy to pause, reflect, and center my heart—even if it’s just for five minutes while the boys are playing. It’s a small rhythm that keeps my faith alive amidst all the chaos.
4. Morning + Night Peace: YOTO Mini Player
Both boys are obsessed with our YOTO Mini Player. In the mornings, we play podcasts while getting dressed, and in the evenings, they wind down with stories and sleep radio as they fall asleep. We’ve mostly stuck with the free options so far, but I’m excited to start downloading more books for them. I love the size, it’s perfect for little hands, and it keeps them entertained without screens. Total sanity saver.
5. Mom Style: Rust Suede Jamie Espadrille Flats from Tuckernuck
Some days you just need shoes that make you feel like you’ve got it together. These flats are my go-to right now. They are comfortable enough for chasing kids but elevated enough that I don’t feel like I’m wearing sneakers everywhere. The rust suede is perfect for fall, and they really do pull an outfit together in seconds.
Those are my 5 sanity savers this week! What’s saving your sanity right now? Drop me a reply or comment! Some weeks, it’s the little wins that make all the difference.
